Mother’s Day poses an interesting problem for YoungMoneyFinance. On the one hand, Mom’s are truly amazing and Mrs’ Money Finance Mom is no exception. How do you properly say thanks to someone so influential in your life? Unfortunately like many other holidays, Mother’s Day has become super commercialized. Big retailers want you to know that unless you’re spending big bucks, you probably aren’t doing Mother’s Day right! The reality is you don’t need to go overboard to say thanks to your Mom. The following is a Guest Post from my little sister with a few ideas on creative gifts that Mom might like…and they’re all at a YMF approved price tag!

Hi everybody! I’m Ben’s little sister, Emily. In today’s article I’m going to give you 8 gift ideas under $100 for Mother’s Day.

Gift Idea #1: DIY Present: Reasons why I love my Mom

All you will need is a jar, letters, any other things you want to make a cute jar. Fill the jar with reasons why you love your Mom. This would be a cute gift as an extra gift.

Gift Idea #2: Nail Kit

You can get nail polish anywhere. I would suggest putting a few nail polish bottles in a cute basket and put some other spa materials in it. Or get your Mom a gift card to a local nail salon.

Gift Idea #3: Sun Hat 

This is a perfect idea for a mom who loves fashion! I found this one on amazon for $13.49. You can find these at a lot of places.

Gift Idea #4:  Perfume

You can find perfume at a lot of places. I would suggest checking out Bath and Body Works, Belk, Target, Walmart, Macy’s. You should be able to find some below $50. All moms like smelling nice.

Gift Idea #5: A gift for all the moms who loves journaling

I would suggest getting a set of pens and a nice journal. You could get pens from practically anywhere, same with planners. Check out TJmaxx for journals, they have cute ones that are affordable. This gift would probably end up being $10 total.

Gift Idea #6: Fitbit FlexThis would be a good gift for a Mom that wants to get in shape or loves working out. My Mom and Dad both have a fitbit and they love it! It encourages them to go out and take a walk to get 10,000 steps in. I would recommend getting one on amazon because they are $79. Other  places sell them for $80+.

Gift Idea #7: Purse
Most moms love getting new purses. I found this cute one at verabradley.com. but you can find purses everywhere. Look for discontinued styles to get the best deals.  This one is on sale for $58.50.

Gift Idea #8: Gift Cards

Now if all else fails, get your mom a gift card. I would suggest getting a gift card at a coffee shop, maybe a gym membership, a clothing store.
