Budgeting is hard, I get it. Forcing yourself to sit down and keep track of your finances often doesn’t end pretty. Unfortunately a budget it a plan, and without a plan, we don’t really know where we’re going, and if we don’t know where we are going, we certainly won’t get there. That’s why you need a budget!
For those of you that are a little more old fashioned like me (or just don’t trust online tools like Mint.com or LearnVest), I’ve created a handy Excel template that I use to budget. It allows you to have multiple categories, all while maintaining a big picture view of how you month is shaping up.
