The top eleven excuses to get out of yet another dinner with friends

I think that most friend groups out there really enjoy going out to dinner. I guess it’s the natural transition for us young professionals – in college our friend groups would always go hang out and eat, whether it was at the dining hall (yes, I had a meal plan my senior year, #winning) or at the late night pizza joint whose pizza was way too cheap for the quality but you didn’t question it because we were all broke back then. But goodness, it seems like all we do these days is go out to eat. These dinners ain’t cheap, especially when the waiter auto-gratituitizes us for being a large group! Now I’m not suggesting you be antisocial; I often join my friends for dinner, but sometimes it’s just a little too much for my budget to handle. Here are some great excuses to help you out next time you’ve had one too many friend group dinners:dinner

1) Ahh sorry, but I just need a little ‘me’ time tonight.
2) Tonight? Ah bummer, I have a nice stew cooking in the crock-pot.
3) Ehhh, I’m not feeling all that great tonight, think I’ll pass.
4) What? I didn’t see it on Twitter so had no idea about dinner tonight.
5) Oh no! I would but I have a hot date tonight.
6) Oh shoot, tonight’s roommate dinner night.
7) I told myself I’m going to start eating healthier.
8) Sorry, I’ll just be returning from my spelunking trip and will be tired.
9) Aw man, already have plans tonight.
10) I’ve been looking forward to my ramen and PB&J all week.
11) Sorry there, I only eat out on the weekends to save up for my big vacation.
