A Christmas Thank You

A Christmas Thank You

In 2 short days all over the world, many of us will be celebrating Christmas. Regardless of your traditions, the holiday season is always a magical time of the year.  December often brings lots of time with family and friends, often the exchanging of presents, holiday parties, festive music, great food and unless you’re in the southern hemisphere, colder weather! It’s often accompanied by time off of work, which is never a bad thing! I also will be taking some time off of work and seeing family, which I’m super excited about. Although in keeping with the spirit of 2020, things will look different for sure! I thought I’d do a brief post of a quick thank you!

So much to be thankful for

Although this might come as a bit of a repeat from my Thanksgiving post, I still think it’s important. 2020 has taught me a lot about what’s important in life and I’ve been trying to be more in the habit of expressing my thankfulness. I know that it’s been a difficult year for all of us, some definitely more than others. However, I’ve been reflecting more that it’s important to be appreciative for what you do have, no matter what the circumstances. With that, I’m just so thankful for Mrs. Money Finance and BabyMoneyFinance. I’m also thankful for my extended family, whom although I haven’t really gotten to see that much this year in person, our nearly nightly FaceTimes are pretty awesome. I’m thankful for our new house that we moved to in 2020 (yes, moved during a pandemic) and that we are able to have peace and quiet here. I’m also thankful for work (never thought I’d say that), as not all were able to maintain a steady paycheck this year. I’m also thankful for the little things in life and being able to slow down. The COVID world had a way of removing the things that weren’t as important in life!

Enjoying all the we do have

There’s certainly some excitement in the air around the vaccine, and the hope that sometime in 2021 things might be somewhat back to normal. As I expectantly look towards that day, I’ll continue expressing gratitude and living life to the fullest each day. No day is taken for granted and even in day 250+ of semi-quarantine life, I’m still going to find the silver linings and make the most of it. Resilience has been my word of the year and to me that means both finding a way to success but also happiness. Life will always toss you lemons and as cliché as it sounds, 2020 has definitely taught me to figure out a way to make lemonade.

My wish for you

I hope that your December holiday season is able to be somewhat special no matter what you celebrate or with your situation. Slow down, take off, rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends; whether in-person (safely) or virtually. As much as it might suck not to be together in-person, do be thankful for the ability to be together virtually! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
