Thanksgiving is here. What a great time of year to enjoy great food with family and fiends. Swapping great stories, catching up and just hanging out. It’s certainly important to take some time out to sit back and reflect on how truly blessed we are, and how much we can be thankful for.
Have you heard the statistic on how many people in this world live on less than $1 each day? It’s a huge number of people that daily get by on less than your coffee from Starbucks this morning cost.
I think sometimes we get so caught up in our lives that we forget how truly blessed we are. Most of us have great jobs, health insurance, enough food in our bellies, a roof over our heads and even a little extra to enjoy. We’re able to put extra money aside for our retirement and invest financially in our future. How incredible.
This Thanksgiving, take a moment to step back and consider how blessed we really are. Before complaining the day after Thanksgiving about how there’s ‘no good food in your house’ or how expensive the new boots you want are, remember that most people in world today can’t even fathom what having a problem like that is.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I try not to base my thanks on comparison. Yes, we’re lucky, we have so much, but it’s not because others have so much less that I should be thankful.
