No matter what line of business you’re in, there are going to be certain aspects of it that you hate. It’s inevitable. But just because you don’t like something doesn’t mean you have to suffer through it! In this blog post, we will discuss four typical areas of business that people tend to hate and what to do about them.

Hating Having to Sell

Whether you’re in sales or not, there will be times when you have to sell something – whether it’s a product, an idea, or yourself. And for some people, this can be a real nightmare. If you hate selling, the first thing you need to do is change your mindset. Instead of thinking of it as ‘selling’, think of it as helping people. Your goal should be to find out what the other person needs and then see if you can provide it for them. It’s not about getting someone to buy something they don’t want or need; it’s about providing them with a solution to their problem.

Hating Having to Network

For introverts, the thought of networking can be downright terrifying (as in introvert myself this absolutely terrifies me). But whether you like it or not, networking is an important part of doing business. The key to successful networking is to focus on quality over quantity. Instead of trying to meet as many people as possible, focus on meeting a few people who could potentially be valuable contacts. And when you’re at a networking event, don’t be afraid to strike up a conversation with someone – even if you don’t know them. Remember that the other person might be as nervous as you are! You never know where it might lead!

Hating Office Politics

Office politics can be frustrating, confusing, and downright stressful. But if you want to be successful in business, you need to learn how to navigate them. The best way to deal with office politics is to stay out of it as much as possible. Don’t get involved in gossip or backstabbing; just focus on doing your job to the best of your ability. Additionally, try to build relationships with people from all different levels of the organization – not just those who are in positions of power. These relationships will come in handy when political battles start brewing. And finally, don’t forget that office politics are usually temporary. So, if you find yourself in the middle of a heated battle, just ride it out and wait for things to calm down.

Hating Doing the Books

For many small business owners, doing the books is one of the most hated aspects of running a business. It’s tedious, time-consuming, and often confusing. However, if you’re not a numbers person, the best thing you can do is hire business accountants to handle your finances for you. This will take a huge weight off of your shoulders and free up your time to focus on other aspects of your business. Even outside of accounting there are likely other admin work you dislike and considering outsourcing might be smart!
